Dolby Atmos at the Festival de Cannes
We’re thrilled to announce that the iconic Louis Lumière Auditorium, home to the prestigious premieres of the Festival de Cannes, is now equipped with Dolby Atmos.
This milestone installation, completed by Cine Digital, ensures that films premiering at the Festival de Cannes will be experienced with the highest level of immersive audio, redefining cinematic storytelling on one of the world’s most prestigious stages.
Dolby Atmos at the Festival de Cannes
We’re thrilled to announce that the iconic Louis Lumière Auditorium, home to the prestigious premieres of the Festival de Cannes, is now equipped with Dolby Atmos.
This milestone installation, completed by Cine Digital, ensures that films premiering at the Festival de Cannes will be experienced with the highest level of immersive audio, redefining cinematic storytelling on one of the world’s most prestigious stages.
New public openings
The number of Dolby Atmos cinemas in Germany continues to grow steadily. In late 2024, two historic city-centre cinemas, Metropol Stuttgart and Admiral Filmpalast Nuremberg, reopened after extensive renovations including Dolby Atmos. Additionally, Cinecitta Nuremberg, a 24-screen multiplex, introduced new deluxe cinemas with Dolby Atmos, and the newly opened Emotion Monheim debuted with two Dolby Atmos screens. With these additions, Germany now boasts a total of 300 Dolby Atmos screens.
Meanwhile, Dolby Cinema is set to arrive at Vue’s Amsterdam flagship cinema, currently under construction. More details will be shared later this year.

1,400 guests from the German-speaking cinema industry gathered in January at Mathäser Filmpalast to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Munich Film Week. Dolby's Fritz Deininger, Stefan Tiefenbrunner and Youry Bredewold presented Dolby Vision + Atmos for premium cinemas and presented a Dolby Cinema momentum ten years on. Kinopolis CEO Gregory Theile announced that Kinopolis Hamburg multiplex, which will include a Dolby Cinema will ope on 8 April. In addition, CEO of Lochmann Filmtheaterbetriebe Marius Lochmann and Hans-Joachim-Flebbe (Astor) announced the opening of a brand-new Dolby Cinema in Hannover later this year.

Dolby also demonstrated Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos at 2 events in Denmark, hosted by Integrator AV Center, drawing over 120 attendees eager to explore cutting-edge cinema technology.
