Bring your content to life with Dolby Atmos

Dolby Atmos opens a world of possibilities for sound. Access an extensive palette that allows you to place sound in three dimensions and fully capture your vision.

Complement your existing DAW workflow with the Dolby Atmos Renderer application and create the content that audiences love.

Create a deeper connection for the listener

Fully realize your artistic vision and bring your audience deeper into your work, with previously unheard details and sounds from all around. Dolby Atmos gives you the ability to place and move sounds in three dimensions, all around the listener. This widens your palette, allowing you more precision, space, and freedom to create your mix. With the addition of overhead speakers, your listeners will feel like they’re inside the experience.

Reach audiences anywhere they enjoy entertainment

With over 1.5 billion Dolby Atmos-enabled devices already in the hands of consumers, Dolby Atmos is the leading spatial audio experience in the industry.

From TVs, soundbars, and PCs to mobile phones, headphones, and even automotive, Dolby Atmos goes beyond channel-based loudspeaker configurations, reaching audiences where they listen.

Spend your time on your mix, not your deliverables

It’s easy to integrate Dolby Atmos into your existing workflow. The most popular audio and spatial headphone workflows and DAWs like Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Nuendo, Studio One, Cubase, Pyramix, and Resolve, all support Dolby Atmos — making it easier than ever to create in, both in and out of the studio.

Create immersive audio mixes intuitively with your existing tools

When mixing, your focus is on creating a great soundtrack, so we designed Dolby Atmos content tools to integrate and work intuitively with your existing mixing solution.

Building on top of the traditional surround approach, Dolby Atmos brings two key innovations to deliver an exceptional, immersive entertainment experience. The first is a pair of overhead bed channels, resulting in a 7.1.2 surround mix. The second key development is the introduction of audio objects — individual sources that can be placed anywhere in the room, independent of the surround beds, informed by metadata that places them based on X, Y, Z coordinates and the number of speakers available in the room.

Whether you’re mixing in Pro Tools, Nuendo, Cubase, Studio One, Pyramix, or Resolve, integrations with the Dolby Atmos Renderer allow for easy routing and panning of sources to either the multichannel beds or to object busses, which are readily available in the I/O dropdown selection.

The 7.1.2 bed audio, object audio, and metadata are routed from your audio workstation to the Dolby Atmos Renderer, which can monitor, record, and play back Dolby Atmos content. This will render the audio and metadata to your defined speaker configuration for monitoring, as well as rendering to standard channel-based layouts for both monitoring and deliverable creation. The Dolby Atmos Renderer also records Dolby Atmos master files used for encoding for 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Discs and can export to ADM BWF, commonly used for encoding by streaming services.
