Unlock new creative and business potential with the world’s leading immersive audio technology.
For over 50 years, content creators and audio professionals have relied on Dolby to make soundtracks that inspire, amaze, and bring audiences into the story.
Today, we continue to push the envelope for quality sound through innovations in immersive audio. Dolby Atmos® Content Creation Solutions enable you to easily create a three-dimensional sonic environment where you can precisely place and move individual sounds to deliver an entirely new entertainment experience. And because these intuitive tools integrate into your existing mixing, editing, and sound design workflows, you can start using them quickly and easily, staying focused on your creativity.
Plus, with Dolby Atmos becoming more readily available across devices and content, it’s been embraced by both audiences and the world’s top content creators.
Explore a new dimension of creativity
Dolby Atmos lets you precisely place and move sounds in three-dimensional space with the introduction of audio objects — and with much more precision compared to traditional surround. And with the addition of overhead speakers, you can create a fully encompassing soundstage to make listeners feel like they’re inside the experience.
Tap into new business opportunities
More movie titles, 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Discs, TV series, and games are being created for the Dolby Atmos experience every day. More content — plus availability across devices, streaming services, and increasing consumer demand for the experience — all results in more business opportunity for you.
Spend your time on your mix, not your deliverables
Easily and efficiently generate all your channel-based deliverables from a single Dolby Atmos mix, for virtually any listening environment — cinema, home, mobile device, PC, or streaming services. Whether you need a 5.1 or 7.1 surround, stereo mix, or binaural or B-format render, the Dolby Atmos Renderer can create it.
Your mix, optimized for any listening environment
Dolby Atmos automatically optimizes content based on the number of speakers in the environment or device, so your mix delivers the best experience it can for cinema as well as mobile devices enabled with Dolby Atmos, home theaters, soundbars, and even headphones.
Stay creative using familiar workflows
Intuitive Dolby Atmos content creation tools integrate easily with your choice of industry-standard workflows, so you can stay focused on the work, not the tools. With native panner integration in Pro Tools and Nuendo, plus support for industry-standard I/O hardware using Core Audio and ASIO, you can build the system that fits your workflow with support for both Mac® and PC.

Create immersive audio mixes intuitively with your existing tools.
When mixing, your focus is on creating a great soundtrack, so we designed Dolby Atmos® content tools to integrate and work intuitively with your existing mixing solution.
Building on top of the traditional surround approach, Dolby Atmos brings two key innovations to deliver an exceptional, immersive entertainment experience. The first is a pair of overhead bed channels, resulting in a 7.1.2 surround mix. The second key development is the introduction of audio objects — individual sources that can be placed anywhere in the room, independent of the surround beds, informed by metadata that places them based on X, Y, Z coordinates and the number of speakers available in the room.
Whether you’re mixing in Pro Tools or Nuendo, the native integrations allow for easy routing and panning of sources to either the multichannel beds or to object busses, which are readily available in the I/O dropdown selection.
The 7.1.2 bed audio, object audio, and metadata are routed from your audio workstation to the Dolby Atmos Renderer, which can monitor, record, and play back Dolby Atmos content. This will render the audio and metadata to your defined speaker configuration for monitoring, as well as rendering to standard channel-based layouts for both monitoring and deliverable creation. The Dolby Atmos Renderer also records Dolby Atmos master files used for encoding for 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Discs and can export to ADM BWF, commonly used for encoding by streaming services.
