Now, people in Korea and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia can feel the transformative power of storytelling at Dolby Cinema. Learn about our expansion into these two new territories and what makes Dolby Cinema special.

Dolby Cinema in Korea

Korea’s first Dolby Cinema opened at Megabox COEX, in Samsung-dong, Seoul on July 22. This marks the first of 10 screens that will open in Korea with Megabox.

Dolby Cinema in Saudi Arabia

We’re partnering with AMC Cinemas and muvi Cinemas to bring Dolby Cinema to Saudi Arabia. The country’s first Dolby Cinema opened July 30 at muvi Cinemas at the U-Walk Mall, Arabian Centres in Riyadh. This is the first of three screens to be added to muvi’s extending portfolio of offerings. Dolby Cinema will expand further into Saudi Arabia in partnership with AMC Cinemas for 16 new sites, with the first opening by the end of 2020.

What makes Dolby Cinema special?

These new sites will deliver the complete Dolby experience with the ultravivid picture Dolby Vision® and the immersive sound of Dolby Atmos®. Dolby Vision is realized through a dual 4K laser, High Dynamic Range (HDR) projector system, and boasts a spectacular picture. Compared to standard screens, the Dolby Vision image is twice as bright, and has 500 times the contrast ratio, with blacker blacks, and an unsurpassed color palette. With Dolby Atmos, audiences feel like they’re inside the action as the sounds and music come alive with breathtaking realism and move all around them.

To date, there are over 250 Dolby Cinema sites operating worldwide in 14 countries, with an additional 200 screens committed.
